Cornerstone “is a Christian coffee shop and book shop run by four Grove churches working together who had the vision of creating a coffee shop where all will be welcomed and valued for who they are, not for what they can do, and where God shall be glorified in our dealings with each other.” They have a good selection of Christian books and also fairtrade gifts and food items. They are happy to order in any books that they do not have in stock.

The Churches in Wantage and Grove set up the Wantage and Grove Food bank. “The Wantage and Grove Foodbank is a practical, community based project, organised by local churches, which provides food parcels to those in our immediate area who find themselves temporarily in difficult circumstances.”

Street Pastors have been operating in the Wantage and Grove centres since 2009 having been set up by 10 local churches from a range of denominations. “Street Pastors teams are on the streets in Wantage every Friday night and an early team is building up our contact with younger people in Wantage and Grove”

Wantage and Grove Church Partnership is an ecumenical group of churches in Wantage and Grove.

Loneliness is a big problem in rural communities and the Archway Foundation is an Oxford and Abingdon based Christian charity that “is committed to serving adults hurt by loneliness.” “If you live in Oxfordshire, recognise the need in your area and are interested in developing a service locally we would be pleased to hear from you to discuss possible options for responding to those hurt by loneliness.”
